Uncommon Canvas

What do you see when you look at a puddle on the ground or something slightly glossy? The reflection stares back at you like a freshly painted canvas in whatever shape the water flows.

A still lake in the middle of an island, a surface like a mirror perfectly reflecting the sky above. Take in all that the image allows and let your mind wander to the depths of what is possible.

Watery Peace

I am always looking for ways to inspire my creativity, reading quotes, journaling, and leaving notes for my future self. Inside this photo is creativity being captured, this photo reminds me of the consistency of life. A life that by itself is much like a fight, you win some you lose some, but you always have the chance to regroup and change up your strategy after each round. Will you take advantage of this opportunity, or will you let it pass you by as you get called into the next round?

Personal Reflections

Street photography is a unique adventure, there are times when I walk the same path and see the same things, but something will be new. There will be times when I expect to take photos of a certain area and upon arrival, the ground is more captivating than the surroundings. With each of these pictures I have displayed, the one common thing they all share is timing. I arrived at the right time to see the still water reflecting my image, I showed up when the light was just perfect enough to catch my eye and show the image clearly.

Grounded Street Signs

Focus is the desire of each photographer; something catches your eye in focus as you instinctually raise your camera to point and shoot. Each moment a memory is pointed at a single focal point, while the world and beauty are displayed around it. Your eyes are drawn to that point, just as the photographer took in that moment so will you when it is displayed.

Backseat Driver

Stillness and perfection, as I have mentioned before these photos have a certain timing aspect to them that creates perfection. These images display the calm gentle nature of one who appreciates the world around them. A silent longing to be connected to something so vast and so beautiful, yet captured in the stillness of one small puddle.

Stoic Silhouette

As rain falls and gives the earth life, so does it open the window to new perspectives. The curiosity of man peering through the liquid pane of glass as night falls and closes the curtains. Each moment is captured with creativity as the world dances in the rain.

Sandstone Window

In the puddle’s mirror, a shadowy silhouette meets a curious gaze, as if the reflection is a forgotten self or an inner voice seeking acknowledgment. The rippling water hints at a quiet conversation with a deeper, perhaps forgotten, aspect of one’s being.

Familiar Faces

The statue stands as a guardian, both in reality and in its watery reflection, symbolizing balance, reverence, and spiritual harmony with nature. The reflection emphasizes the stillness and enduring legacy of the Plains tribes, making it a striking symbol of unity between land, water, and spirit.

Echoes in the River

Driving through these petrified mounds as the clouds break and light is shed into the landscape. unaware of the reflection staring back at me, the sky so different as if the light is shining from the ground up.

Touched by Heaven

The reflection reveals a moment where water becomes both a mirror and source, bringing life to the vibrant green landscape around it. Even standing on the summit, the mirrored peaks remind us that there are always higher places to reach, even if only in reflection.

Peak Reflection

Times of Travel, the first of my reflection collection were these. Meant as a way to uniquely remember where I have been and share myself behind the camera in an artistic way. This is a project that will continue to grow with each place I travel to or any moment I would like to remember.
